MONDAY CHOCOLATE MELTDOWN – LOVE GONE WRONG
She pressed her back against the wall and held her breath. She could see her private parlour through the slight open in the door. She could see Lillian, as beautiful as ever, on her knees, sobbing and gripping Iyke’s leg, babbling through her tears words Ada could only modify to fit the picture before her.
Iyke still loved this girl. Despite all the evil she concocted for him.
Could Ada blame him? Mudia may have been dead for over five years but her heart still belonged to him.
Tears gathered in her eyes and she pressed her lips harder.
Iyke’s croaky inquiry drew her attention back to her parlour. She couldn’t see his face but that broken question tore at her heart.
Lillian looked up at Iyke. Her beautiful tear-streaked face revealed none of the evil she was capable of. “Don’t ask why darling. I just want us to move on.”
If Ada could hold her breath tighter, she would. Move on? How could Lillian say that? They were both married to siblings and she could kneel at his feet and propose they continue an affair?
It happened so fast and Ada didn’t have time to retreat. Iyke jerked his feet away from Lillian’s grip, and moved toward the door from where Ada peeped. Lillian fell back and yelped.
“Your husband needs to hear that!”
Iyke pushed back the door and Ada gasped. “I shouldn’t have eavesdropped. I’m sorry.”
Iyke marched off into their bedroom.
